SAMPLE PROCEDURES
PLANT TISSUE SAMPLING
Pluck 5 to 10 leaves from the top third of the plant to ensure the lab has sufficient media to test per sample.
Be sure to mark the TEST TYPE in the Sample Order Detail Form:
- Plant Tissue Test
- Nutrient Test
- Heavy Metal Test
LIQUID SAMPLING
Collect 100mL of liquid per sample.
Be sure to mark the TEST TYPE in the Sample Order Detail Form:
- Nutrient Test
- Water Test
- Runoff Test
PATHOGEN SAMPLING
Collect 2 to 4, 1" segments of upper root per sample.
Be sure to mark the TEST TYPE in the Sample Order Detail Form:
- Hop Latent Viroid (HPLV)
- Pythium
- Fusarium Oxysporum
SOIL MEDIA SAMPLING
- FOR OUTDOOR SOIL: take samples from a depth of 6-7 inches
- FOR POTTING SOIL: For potting media take the sample from the top 1/3rd of the pot and at least 2-3 inches deep.
Collect at least 200g or about 2 cups of soil per sample.
Do not include any large wood chips or roots in the sample as this can lead to inaccurate results.
Be sure to mark the TEST TYPE in the Sample Order Detail Form:
- Mehlich 3
- Saturated Paste
- Total Nutrient Digestion
- Heavy Metals
